Bringing the Library to the Airwaves: JMRL Partners with 106.1 The Corner

JMRL is excited to announce a brand-new collaboration with 106.1 The Corner! Starting this fall, you can catch monthly live broadcasts of The Corner’s midday show, hosted by Samantha Federico and Fievel, broadcasting right from JMRL branches across the region.

Each broadcast will run from 10 AM – 12 PM and will feature two exciting hours of programming:

10AM-11AM: Hosts Samantha and Fievel will talk and learn more more about JMRL programs and resources, highlighting the many ways your library serves the community. This also includes an interview with a library staff member, offering listeners the chance to learn more about a career in libraries, the scope of services your local library provides, and more!

11AM-12PM: Fievel and Samantha will host an in-depth conversation with a local author, speaking about their latest works, what inspires them, and how local libraries can facilitate community engagement and promote local authors.

These broadcasts will take place outside of each participating branch (weather permitting), bringing energy and conversation to the library lawn. In the case of inclement weather, the show will move inside.

This new partnership is more than just a broadcast-it’s a celebration of stories, creativity, and connection. Whether you tune in on 106.1 FM, visit the Corner web player, use the 106.1 The Corner App, or stop by your local branch to watch the broadcast in action, you’ll have the chance to experience the library in a fresh new way.

JMRL and The Corner will also be collaborating on social media, so keep an eye out for BTS videos, guest interviews, and event highlights.
